Easy Vegan Pasta Bolognese

Easy Vegan Pasta Bolognese is a delicious pasta sauce you can make in no time and use not only for pasta, but also for moussaka, lasagna and pizza! You can add chopped or shredded carrots, celery or vegan cream to the sauce if you want, or maybe use other spices? It’s up to you.

The stores carry lots of different sorts of vegan ground “beef”. Try out the different brands and find your favorite. We pretty much like them all.

Easy Vegan Pasta Bolognese

Ingredients for 4 people:

  • 3-400 grams vegan ground “beef”
  • 1 large onion, chopped
  • 3 cloves of garlic, mashed
  • 1 can of tomatoes
  • 1 tbsp maple syrup (or sugar)
  • 1 cube vegetable buillion
  • 1 tsp pepper
  • 1 tbsp oregano or basil (or both)
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • Splash of water for a thinner sauce
  • Pasta for 4 people

This is how you do it:

Heat up some oil in a large frying pan. Add the “beef” and stir well to mince it while it cooks. Add onion and garlic and fry for a few minuts while stirring.

Then add the spices and tomatoes, the maple syrup, crushed vegetable buillion cube and about 1/2 cup of water and mix well. Add some more water if needed. Let the sauce simmer for about 5-10 minutes. The longer, the better. Stir every now and then.

Serve with cooked pasta, a green salad, olives, garlic bread and a sprinkle of our homemade vegan parmesan.
